Columbia and NYU

So today I went to Columbia and NYU for tours.

Columbia: BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS, the people there were so nice and they took their time to answer my questions which was very helpful. The guy who led my group was a junior who was a philosophy and history double major, and I asked him about what being a history major is like because I’m really considering that and from the way he described it, it sounds awesome. The dorms look so chill but the neighborhood seems kind of boring. However, the opportunities that Columbia offers really suits what I want.

NYU: Okay, the admissions lady was so damn boring, I basically KO-ed for the one hour that she was talking. But my tour leader was from Cupertino and she was also really nice. Although NYU wasn’t like a traditional college campus-wise, I absolutely LOVED the neighborhood and environment, there were so many shops and restaurants, and people. I don’t know… I love crowded places. Anyways, academics-wise, NYU seems a lot easier, but they also offer as much opportunities as Columbia does outside of school, which I thought was pretty cool. Overall: Oddly structured school but kind of in a good way.

Going to Philadelphia tomorrow!

Eye problems yooo.

So I woke up this morning and I was like wtf, my right eye feels like someone just punched it. So I went to the mirror and it looked perfectly fine, but when I blink I feel pressure. School was derp as usual, cut PE to nap in the library. Mr.Evans subbed for us and I fell asleep, not that he was boring but because I’m always sleepy and hungry as fuck during 11-12.yadee yadee yaa. Went to the nurse for like half of 16-17 because I didn’t want to be in class and I was lightweight worried about my eye. Had my interview for peer mentoring, which actually went pretty well, compared to last year, where I basically answered every question with an I don’t know. Then we drove to CPMC and I changed my volunteering day from thurs to wed because of the track meets, and all I did was scan things, which was really chill. I also gave Marie the reference sheet for the Paraguay thing. I really hope I get in! I’m so excited! Yeah so I’m compressing my eye now.

  • English essay for yuan was alright, I totally bs-ed it but it sounded okay.
  • Every other class was the same, except we took a district math test.
  • I didn’t know a single thing. I’m not even kidding. Logs are soooo last semester!
  • Ap world was chill, we just watched the last 3 groups’ skips about the philippines, they were pretty funny too! Then Mr. Girling decides to show some boring video. boo!
  • Chem… uhh… the usual… just not getting anything. She can’t explain for her life.
  • Got spanish tutoring with Raisa after school, which really helped! I’m not even kidding, she’s a hella good tutor.
  • Went home after 19/20 because my tutee couldn’t make it.
  • Took a nap for 3 hours, yah.

Valentines day.

Well, to start things off, I woke up feeling sick as fuck, nevertheless, I STILL got my ass off of the bed and to school. I only got 4 hours of sleep too. I’ve never felt so bad before, sore throat, cold, stuffy nose, light fever. Anyways, I got two rose grams, they were kinda dead looking but oh wells. The rest of my day was just boring as usual, I was so fuckin miserable, I hate being sick. Went to lakeshore with Michelle 19/20, got some chinese food and got back in time for track practice, Coach Andy didn’t need us so Michelle, Dana and I went to stones to get food. I spilled my chinese food all over my pants in mickey d’s LOL. THANK GOODNESS I WORE BLACK PANTS. Fuck cheap containers. Anyways, went to watch the Vars game against O’Connell, you know, just sat behind the table since I didn’t have to do book or clock. We won by around 30 points and Mr. Ray let everyone play, haha, even Evan, Sammy and Alvin got to play, they did a pretty darn good job too! I would be so nervous to play vars for the first time, props to them. After that I went home. I swear to god, the weather today was like siberian weather or something.

The Vow

Went downtown with Leilani to watch the vow. Bigass fail, not even kidding.

  • We agreed to meet at f21… too bad we went to two DIFFERENT one. k.
  • We walked back and forth in the middle of a crosswalk to go to the metreons.
  • Which did not even have The Vow playing.
  • We decided to come early but we were 1 minute late to the movie.
  • Why? Because we spent a century at lush.
  • We also stuffed our blondie’s pizza into plastic bags and I dropped the whole can of cheese.
  • Walked to the wrong theatre because the ticket lady gave us tickets for 2:15 instead of 3:50, and because Leilani accidentally walked to the Metreons instead of the one at Westfield LOL. You go girl!
  • We also cried ourselves shitless, especially me. I looked like a snot monster after the movie… jk I looked fabulous! kinda
  • Wonderful day overall, bought a lot of new stuff and got some free samples! And yes, I made every bullet point start with a W on purpose.

Floppy Disks.

Okay, so, today I was at the hospital going through a boxfull of those floppy disks and having to insert and review each and every single one of these ancient things. Yes, you heard me right, FLOPPY DISKS. Anyways, I was doing that while eating some pizza, you know, typical volunteering day. Then they had some announcement thing and at first I was like “oh shit, what happened”, and stopped mid pizza, then I realized it was code blue. I asked the people there what they say when its on this floor and they were like “oh, they say all hands on deck.” and I was like ” like on ships?!” LOL.

Pho with Judy!

  • Went to Pho garden at around 12 and we both got large bowls of pho LOL.
  • Purple Kow after… lol i told them to put less sugar and they gave me more.
  • Bussed downtown on the 38 and went to the metreons, but they didn’t have any good movies so we just went to the new f21 and walked around.
  • Today wasn’t awkward at all despite us not seeing each other for 1.5 years, we had so many things to talk about and today was definitely the best day of my week!
  • All of my stories started with “so i was at a basketball game” or “so i was with michelle”.
  • FIXIES … story of the day.
  • I got a really nice button down top from H&M, i’ve been wanting something like this since forever.
  • mi madre got me 3 flasks with 2 openings from the company she works at, which is a biotech company for my hookah. lol, im using the 2nd best flask because i don’t want to mess up the best one. these are so cool!
  • notice that i’m not capitalizing much stuff.. my keyboard is retarded so its hard to caps stuff.

First week of the spring semester. Letsgoooo.

Schedule:

  1. Off
  2. Yuan. He’s not that bad, just rather annoying.
  3. Maquinana. I don’t know why people hate her so much but I love her. LOVE her.
  4. Donohue. What do you even do in this class?
  5. Ambrose. This speaks for itself. Thankgod they did not put me in Hunt.
  6. Girling. Love this class too.
  7. Trimble. I don’t think that I’m going to learn anything but I’m going to try anyways. Chillest science class ever after Mr.Johnson’s. I still wish that I got Rotter though.
  8. Off

My sleeping schedule was totally fucked up this whole week, but it was pretty good anyways. I spent so much time waiting in line to get schedule changes, but I’ve learned to accept what I have. You gotta admit, this is a wonderful schedule for 3rd to last pick. Its been pretty stress free and yups. Managing for basketball has been pretty intense, there were so many overtimes, but we managed to win every single game. Good job Lowell! Saw summertime fine pretty much everyday of the week with Michelle Vuong LOL.  And you know how the saying goes. I hope that I’m going to have a good week next week too!

2011/2012 New Years.

2011

  • I feel like this was by far the worst year of my life, but there were some amazing moments here and there. This year taught me a lot. But I think that its better to remember the good things instead of the bad so I’m going to talk about all the good things that happened this year.
  • I got my grades up from last year. I had a 3.63 last year and a 3.83 and 4.16 this year. Hard work definitely pays off, especially in chemistry and advanced algebra.
  • I met a lot of new people this year and I also got closer to some amazing people. I had a lot more classes with my best friend Cally, so you know what that means. Cheating and eating all day everyday, and that stupid abcd game LOL. I love this girl. Another person that I’d like to mention is Michelle Vuong, she always listens to all the shit that I have to say no matter how repetitive it is, and she never judges me. We have so many inside jokes and oogray faces. Maquinana together forever, yeah? She’s so adorable.
  • I also spent more quality time with my family. So many people were visiting San Francisco this year and it was amazing getting to know my cousins better as well as seeing my uncles that I rarely see.
  • Last but not least, the family gathering in Thailand was so fun! It was a good way to end the year and relax. Its such a beautiful country and I’m so glad we went there. Bug bites are not the business though. I finally met my cousin Adrianna, she’s such a cutie patootie with her australian accent and chubby cheeks. There’s a lot in this little girl.

2012

  • Began the year at the Airport in Singapore, which was kind of lonely.
  • I managed to snag an entire aisle on the plane though! This is like basically first class.
  • Watched the first sunrise of the year while eating bibimbap.
  • Its not much but it’s actually a pretty good start to the year.
